Where College-Aged Marylanders Stand on Question 7

I interviewed three students from our school (Frostburg State University) who had mixed opinions about tomorrow's Maryland Election. Question 7 is one of the topics of controversy in tomorrow's voting. Question 7 is shown here:

Question 7 Gaming Expansion Referendum (Ch. 1 of the Second 2012 Special Session) Gaming Expansion

Do you favor the expansion of commercial gaming in the State of Maryland for the primary purpose of raising revenue for education to authorize video lottery operation licensees to operate “table games” as defined by law; to increase from 15,000 to 16,500 the maximum number of video lottery terminals that may be operated in the State; and to increase from 5 to 6 the maximum number of video lottery operation licenses that may be awarded in the State and allow a video lottery facility to operate in Prince George’s County?

Cathy Close, a Senior Early Childhood Education major here, said that she is for Question 7 because she feels that it will create jobs and stimulate Maryland's economy. However, she will not be voting in tomorrow's election.

Garrett Minnick, a Senior Illustration major here, said that he is not in favor of Question 7 because he feels that it will not sponsor funding for education. He goes on to say that he doesn't think that the money will go to education at all. He will be casting his vote tomorrow.

Rebekah Phillips, a Senior Illustration and Painting major here, said that she is against Question 7 mostly because she doesn't believe in gambling. She goes on to say that she doesn't think the money will reach our schools. She will not be voting in tomorrow election.

Maryland college students have spoken, unofficially for the most part!
