Well fortunately for you (and I) it's not. A friend found out I was doing a blog about saving money and referred me to a website they use all the time called Ebates.com. Curious, I got on immediately and signed up and started browsing everything.
Here's how the little gem known as Ebates works:
You visit Ebates.com, then you find one of your favorite or frequent online stores, there's more than 1200 to choose from including Target, Kohls, Walmart, etc. and you buy the things you want like normal. (This is when things get good) Ebates is then paid a referral fee by the retailer for getting you to their website, and then Ebates will share part of the earnings with you. You are usually paid back a certain percentage of your purchase (anywhere from 1-25%). You then save all your money like it is a checking account and when you aquire enough you can cash it out for a "Big Fat Check"! What's even more awesome is if you spend $25 after you sign up within three months, you will get a free $10 gift card to a store of your choice!

So if you're like me and sick of getting everything from the three stores Western Maryland has to offer, online shopping is the way to go, and with Ebates you can start earning money for spending money.
