Tapas Tuesdays at Dante’s Bar

Dante’s bar is one of the most popular spots to experience nightlife in Frostburg. The atmosphere is welcoming and they offer a very wide selection of micro brews. Dante’s may be considered by some to be the cultural hub of Frostburg. The walls of Dante’s are adorned with local artwork, and they frequently hire both traveling and local musicians to perform for the evening. Many people, however, are unaware that Dante’s also offers first-rate, affordable food.
Antipasto
Dante’s serves food daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Every Tuesday, Dante’s offers a variety of well-constructed appetizers to sample among friends. Tapas Tuesday is more like a casual food tasting. Gathering a group of five or six people together allows a party to order one of everything on the menu. This past Tuesday’s menu featured a roasted pepper and tomato antipasto salad, meatballs and polenta, cauliflower pollanaise, baba ganoush, house made guacamole, tuscan bean crostinis, aged gouda with honey apples and pecans, and a mini muffaletta.

Bartender Josh Horevay, a chef in his own right, knows the menu well. “A classic pollanaise is a potato salad made with mayonnaise. CJ’s pollanaise is a warm cauliflower salad made with olive oil. It’s really fantastic.” Josh is always happy to provide information and opinions on the micro brews offered at Dante’s. If someone is unsure of their tastes, he doesn't hesitate to offer samples to help the customer decide which beer suits him or her best.
