Animal shelters are
necessary organizations for communities to possess: they help manage the pet
population by spaying or neutering; they take in unwanted animals that would
otherwise be left in hazardous situations; they help match animals with loving
“forever homes.” Many of these establishments are non-profit, meaning they rely
on donations to support the animals that are waiting for homes. The Allegany County Animal Shelter in Allegany County Maryland is one of these non-profit shelters that need the help of the community to support its homeless pet population. To supplement the donations it receives, the shelter holds many fundraising events throughout the year. The following is a list of all the events that are being held in the month of October:

includes sales as well as rentals, if you show your ticket to them.
Come
out and join the fun this month, or keep an eye on future events by viewing the
Allegany County Animal Shelters Facebook page or website, at http://ashelterofhope.com/events.html.
If you can’t donate money, please consider donating to the shelter in other
ways. Volunteers are always needed to do an array of different jobs, including handling
animals at adoption events. The shelter also accepts donations of old towels or
blankets, and hay bales to provide bedding for the fuzzy friends waiting for a
second chance. The best way to help shelters in need? Become a foster, or adopt
from the shelter to reduce the strain of finding space for more needy animals.
