Homecoming Wrap-Up

Homecoming Weekend of 2011 was very successful for Frostburg State University.  Students were glad to interact with the alumni and take place in all of the campus events.
Junior Mass Communication major Myra Derbyshire worked Homecoming weekend with the University Advancement Office.  The activities she participated in include working at the retired employee luncheon on Thursday, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new football locker room on Friday, and the football reunion luncheon.  The Thurmont, Maryland, native also worked the coat room at the Leadership Gala.  She states, "I actually got to sit in the gala, eat dinner, and listen to the speeches because there was an empty seat!"
Mike Zapalowicz of Bel Air, Maryland, spent Friday evening at a friend's house catching up with some alumni before going to a house party.  Saturday afternoon, the senior Mass Communication major went to the Homecoming football game and a cookout with alumni afterward.  Mike enjoyed his Homecoming weekend and adds, "Since I only went to the football game, I don't have any suggestions to change anything."
Jessie Biser, a junior Spanish major, participated in All Campus Sing with UVUGD on Friday, as well as singing the National Anthem with UVUGD at Saturday’s swim meet.  The Accident, Maryland, native also went to the Homecoming Dance Saturday night.  She says, "The dance was good.  The only bad part was that you couldn't hear the music very well."
Although Frostburg's Homecoming Weekend has come to an end, students now prepare to celebrate Halloween this weekend.
