With the colors beginning to change and the weather staying pleasant a lot of us are looking for fun things to do outside. We feel like we should be doing something with all the nature around us. You might see the occasional student staring off towards the mountains soaking up the oranges, reds, browns, and the few remaining shades of green. The problem is many of us might not know where to go to take advantage of the beautiful Alleghenies. Look no further than Cooper's Rock State Forest. Cooper's Rock is located an hour from Frostburg, about 15 minutes short of Morgantown, WV (West Virginia University). Cooper's Rock an outdoors person's playground. If you are looking for a leisurely day enjoying the outdoors or to climb some serious rocks, check out Cooper's Rock. The park offers picnicking, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, a playground for the kids (or the kids at heart), and of course the rock itself. With 12,747 acres, one can spend the day exploring and getting a feel for the lovely surroundings we have to play in.

Directions and activity ideas can be found at the State Forest's website:
